From strengthening medical education and ethics to championing women's empowerment and public health reforms, Dr. Yogender Malik's journey reflects a deep commitment to national service and social change.
Dr. Yogender Malik is currently a Member of the Ethics and Medical Registration Board of the National Medical Commission (NMC). He is a Professor (FMT) at Bhagat Phool Singh Govt. Medical College for Women, Khanpur Kalan, Sonipat (Haryana) and holds an MBBS, MD degree from Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, Guwahati, Assam. He has worked at PGIMS, Rohtak.
He was Advisor to the Chief Minister of Haryana for the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Abhiyan (2015-2020), achieving spectacular results. The Sex Ratio at Birth in Haryana reached above 900 for the first time in history, improving from 871 in 2015 to 932 in 2020. He was also made an Advisor for the Swachh Bharat Mission by the CM of Haryana. Dr. Malik is a voracious reader with interests in History and North-East India. He has been working, reading, and writing on women's issues and has a keen interest in Toxicology. He is a member of various professional bodies in Forensic Medicine and Toxicology. He is also a member of the Institute Body of AIIMS, Bathinda.
Dr. Malik has published many papers, written chapters in books, and served as an editor for various journals. He has been awarded the 23rd Bhau Rao Deoras Sewa Samman for his service activities in the far-flung areas of North East India, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttarakhand.
